About

Andrew Wiener and his two younger siblings grew up in Café Shalom, Boston’s first Kosher dairy restaurant that Andrew’s father Marvin opened in 1977. After Andrew graduated with a culinary degree from Johnson and Wales in Providence RI, he worked at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC. There, Andrew trained under the direction of world-class chefs and event planners, serving clients from across the globe.

In 1988, Andrew moved back to Boston and established Catering by Andrew, revolutionizing kosher catering and food service in New England. The company grew from the backrooms of Café Shalom to becoming Boston’s Premier Kosher food service company. Now, Catering by Andrew is proud to supply Kosher catering to the Four Seasons Hotel, the Mandarin Oriental, the Fairmont Copley Plaza, the Royal Sonesta, the Boston Public Library and most of Boston’s finest venues.

In 2013, Andrew brought Josef Messer on board as the General Manager of Operations. Together, Josef and Andrew have become an incredible team. With meticulous attention to detail and exquisite taste, Catering By Andrew continues to strive for excellence every day.
